Laurens County Hall of Heroes
our story.

In 2015 the Laurens County Veterans Hall of Heroes Inc, LLC was established. The Corporation is an independent organization. It is registered as an LLC with the South Carolina Secretary of State Office and the United States Internal Revenue Service. The Corporation has no regular members but is govern by an independent board of nine members.
Since the Corporation’s inception it has partnered with the Laurens County Veterans Affairs Office to help assist and honor any and all military veterans of Laurens County. The two organizations co-sponsored the annual Laurens County Hall of Heroes induction ceremony where approved and deserving veterans had their names and pictures displayed in the hallways of the Laurens County Courthouse.
In 2020 like many other organizations the board fell into disarray due to Covid. The board was not able to meet on a regular basis and several board members were no longer available to serve. The board dwindled down to just three members and was no longer a functioning board.
In 2022 the remaining three Laurens County Hall of Heroes Inc LLC board members voted 7 new board members onto the board. During this time, the three old members along with the 7 new members agreed to expand the corporation to include Laurens County first responders. The board’s longtime partner, the Laurens County Veterans Affair’s Office was also in agreement with the corporation’s expansion. The three old board members then retired after serving on the board with honor.

In 2023 the Laurens County Veterans Hall of Heroes Inc. LLC added two more board members to bring the total to 9 board members. This helped round out the board so that both military and first responders were properly represented. Later that year the Hall of Heroes and the Veterans Affairs Office held two induction ceremonies, one was the annual event honoring Laurens County Veterans. The second was the inaugural Laurens County First Responders honorary event. The process of honoring Veterans and First Responders at the Laurens County Courthouse still remains and will continue well into the future.
The Laurens County Veterans Hall of Heroes Inc. LLC still operates as an independent organization and even though the Laurens County Veterans Hall of Heroes Inc. LLC has evolved to now include Laurens County First responders, the core mission is still the same: To sponsor and/or participate in actives of a patriotic nature, to carry on programs to honor veterans and members of the Armed Forces and the First Responders (Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Communication/Dispatch), of Laurens County and to perpetuate the memory of Veterans and First Responders and comfort their survivors.
